In recent years, the paint market in Vietnam has been a fierce battleground among hundreds of domestic and international brands. According to statistics from the Vietnam Paint – Ink Association (VPIA), there are approximately 600 paint companies nationwide, including more than 70 with foreign investment.

Recent market observations show that, in addition to major global brands such as Jotun, Dulux, Nippon, and 4 Oranges, the Vietnamese paint market is also witnessing strong growth from emerging brands like Viva, Sunpro, Abott, Forich, Catun, and Halomax.

The presence of major global players such as Dulux and Nippon in the paint industry has made competition in the Vietnamese paint market increasingly fierce. To retain their customers, paint companies adopt various strategies, from production to market distribution: pricing, quality, design, as well as after-sales services and warranties.

To capitalize on these advantages, paint companies must invest in modern equipment and advanced technologies, ensure standards compliance, produce high-quality products, increase labor productivity, and enhance competitiveness. However, not every company can quickly keep up with these demands.

Although the investment costs are high, generating corresponding added value is a crucial consideration that Vietnamese paint companies must carefully evaluate and incorporate into their development strategies.
